There is a wide range of materials used for pole type structures within the Australasia Electricity Supply Industry (ESI), with the largest number in the distribution supply sector. The range used includes omni directional and rectangular shapes in materials from softwood, hardwood, steel, concrete and fibre reinforced polymers and plastics. These all have some positives and some negatives surrounding their use, especially in the important cost effective, long life aspect for distribution networks.
The only pole material we believe that eliminates all the negatives and produces more positives than all the others, is well represented in the Dulhunty Poles Titan. The Titan’s material mix includes, special alkaline resistant glass fibre, encapsulated in a matrix of polymer modified cement and metakaolin, producing a practically inert material.
Undoubtably, the most important condition for an ESI distribution pole to achieve is resilience, and Titan has proven itself many times in this regard.
Being proven bushfire proof, the Titan Pole will not melt or distort in any fire, is non-conductive, impervious to termites, rot, and corrosion of any kind. It is UV proof and has a proven long life of 70 years and an expected life of closer to 100 years.

The Titan Pole range for ESI Distribution includes poles from 9m to 21.5m in length, and in strengths from 3kN to 24kN. Special pole designs are readily produced to allow for clients’ unusual demands.
Standard ESI distribution sizes are always available, plus our special engineered Titan poles to suit client’s designed needs, can usually be produced in an acceptable time frame.
Depending upon the pole length required, one or two part Titans are manufactured for Sub-Transmission systems. The strength rating can vary depending on client’s design needs.

We manufacture engineered cement private property Titan poles. Like all Titan products, these are lightweight, electrically non-conductive, bushfire proof, termite, rot and corrosion proof. In the event of being subjected to a bushfire, the Titan poles will survive and be ready for rewiring as soon as conditions permit. Cables can be safely run within the smooth hollow structure, improving safety and security.
The lightweight feature of our property poles have the advantage of being able to be hand carried into difficult access positions, especially in urban locations. We manufacture standard 7.2 metre 4kN, and 9.0 metre 10kN sizes, however poles can be produced to order with the flexibility of our engineered process to a specific size and strength. All Titan Poles have a lifetime warranty.
Clients should be aware that some industry categorization requirements and standards may be applicable to the use of private poles in certain circumstances. The AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules could be one such example in the standards field, and clients are advised to discuss their needs with us initially to ensure all requirements are met.
Titan Poles are manufactured in many different lengths & strengths suiting different situations. Lengths from 7.2m to 14m have been more commonly required for street lighting with various client desired strengths, thereby taking advantage of our specific one-off designed capability.
