Titan’s Lifetime Strength and Durability claim requires provision for the ongoing periodic examination of in-field installed Titans to assess strength and general serviceable condition. An Impact Rebound Hammer Test (IRHT) device is utilised, indicating the difference in the strength test in the factory post curing and pre delivery, to the result of the designated field test – ideally the field test should be at least 10 years after manufacture, however if required it can be carried out sooner.
An ideal example is related here, where several 2013 cured and IRH tested new Titans were shipped to an interstate client for installation that year and were IRHT tested in that installed location some 10 years later. The IRH field tests from these samples, convincingly proved that all Titans tested were still fit for purpose even though a bushfire had reportedly been through that site during that 10 year period.
Moreover, these Titans had actually increased in residual strength by a substantial margin due to ongoing curing despite excessive bushfire temperature exposure, indicating to us that Titan Poles are the only known pole, that does not start to deteriorate the day it is installed. In fact it does the exact opposite!
