Electrical Tests

A significant feature of Titan poles is the combination of electrical characteristics which are broadly similar to CCA treated wood poles but without the risk of electrically induced fire.

Leakage current testing for voltages from 4kV through 115kV and positive critical impulse flashover testing to IEEE Std. 4 – 1995 were carried out by the National Electric Energy Testing Research and Applications Center (NEETRAC) of the Georgia Institute Of Technology, GA, USA.

Surface and Volume Resistivity testing according to IEC 60093 was carried out by ELTEK of St. Charles, MO, USA. Volume resistance was found to be 4.016 x 1014 Ω-cm.
